The Future of Alternative Medicine

Four leading guru's in alternative medicine have published a paper that turns Allopathic Medicine upside down. What a rush! Get on the bandwagon. If you've been wanting to go into the medical field to help people get over their illness, but have been hesitant because of the condition of the medical system in America today, think again. You've know why the Medical System has failed us.

Deepak Chopra, Dean Ornish, Rustum Roy and Andrew Weil wrote a white paper that states, “Alternative Medicine Is Mainstream.” Well, it may not be completely mainstream at this time, but it certainly is headed that way. Take a look around and count how many yoga studios are popping up in every city, and those vegetarian cafes, and healthy alternative dining options even in fast food joints. Healthy Living newsletters and magazines abound.

The message is getting out. Every news article shows the epidemics of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, fibromyalgia, arthritis, cancer and more. How many commercials for drugs must we watch before we realize our society is sick and getting sicker?

Technology has enabled every Tom, Dick and Harry to do his own research into their problem, note product recalls, drug interactions and inquire at his doctor's office about alternatives to drugs and surgery.

We recommend that you seek out a professional to get to the core issue of your problem.

Listen to Begabati Lennihan, RN, CCH explain the deep level that homeopathic reaches into the individual.

People are not taking the status of the Health Care System and their own health care lying down.

Everyone wants a say in their own personal health care.

Should the government be involved in health care? What do you think?

There is a debate in America about how to provide good quality universal health care. You will hear speakers on both sides of this issue. Chopra, Ornish, Roy and Weil have gotten together to get the message out. Alternative medicine modalities are making inroads. The general population has experienced what the Present health care system has to offer. We need a change. We are finding answers and results in lifestyle changes and taking responsibility for our health. Popping a pill cannot fix an underlying problem.

Universal Healthcare Debate 5: Sally C. Pipes (5/12)

People Have A Right To Affordable Healthcare

We've hit bottom and we're ready to climb up out of this
depression. Yes, that's right, depression. Not just economic, but
emotional and mental depression. Hope is the word. We're going
to turn this thing around. We need affordable health care plus the right to  FREE CHOICE of the many alternatives to allopathy.

What does it mean to you to be healthy?

So, start walking, talking with your family and friends in natural
park settings. Everyone hears Mercola tout the benefits of sunshine, vitamin D, taking fish oil for whatever ails you, eliminating hydrogenated oils from your diet, getting exercise 3 times a week with deep breathing and a few other helpful lifestyle changes.

The National Center for Homeopathy Has a Directory of Providers

There are numerous products made by reputable homeopathic pharmacies in America and around the world. Most people begin with combination remedies, but we recommend from the word “GO” seek out a professional homeopath who can get at the root of the issue you are dealing with and begin a Classical approach to healing.

Hyland's Commercial

I encourage you to read the article and make note of the major points that will be a shock to most in the medical field. Some pretty strong statements that we all know deep down, but can find hard to believe.

Here is a short excerpt:

Joy, pleasure and freedom are sustainable, deprivation and austerity are not. When you eat a healthier diet, quit smoking, exercise, meditate and have more love in your life, then your brain receives more blood and oxygen, so you think more clearly, have more energy, need less sleep. Your brain may grow so many new neurons that it could get measurably bigger in only a few months. Your face gets more blood flow, so your skin glows more and wrinkles less. Your heart gets more blood flow, so you have more stamina and can even begin to reverse heart disease. Your sexual organs receive more blood flow, so you may become more potent — similar to the way that circulation-increasing drugs like Viagra work. For many people, these are choices worth making — not just to live longer, but also to live better.”

Thinking about a new career?

So, you are looking for a new direction in your life? You are out of a job and love working with people. You're introspective and love learning about everything in the universe. Maybe, as a child, you wanted to be a pediatrician? There is a future for you in alternative medicine. There are programs all around the country just waiting for applicants. It will be a lot of work, effort, and time. But, you will come away not only with the satisfaction that you have achieved your dream, but that you are helping individuals, communities and the earth with your compassion and skill as a healer.

What steps can you take to move forward?

  1. Decide what alternative field interests you the most
  2. Check out your local programs.
  3. See if there are online or distance learning opportunities
  4. Talk it up and ask for advice
  5. Find others who are interested to see if you can partner order to create a supportive environment
  6. Get some books from the library or Kindle, etc.
  7. Find a local study group
  8. See if an complementary health office needs assistance and offer to volunteer
  9. If you are in school, take some classes that could prepare you for further study or give you a taste of what you might expect
  10. Research the cost of your certificate program

Start with the idea. Write it down. Sort it out. Take your time. But, do something today! The country is waiting for you.

HOMEOPATHY FOR OUR ANIMAL COMPANIONS

February 3rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

Meet Dr. Jeff Levy. He's a Classical Homeopathic Veterinarian. Find out how important it is to use homeopathic remedies for long-term improvement or reversal of diseases for pets.

Inner Health through Homeopathy Radio Show

(February 3, 2009) Homeopathy has been shown to be a safe and effective healing method for both acute and chronic health issues in animals, helping the animal's body heal itself in a quick and gentle manner and become more resistant to disease.

Veterinarian Dr. Jeff Levy discusses the importance of constitutional homeopathic prescribing, which uses remedies that treat the patient rather than a symptom or even a group of systems for the prevention and healing of diseases. Two of Dr. Levy's patients share their stories of healing through homeopathy.

Host Jenny Hwozdek and Dr. Nancy Gahles focus on first aid remedies you can put to use as the need arises. Single or combination remedies can be used effectively for acute situations and they list characteristic symptoms that point to aconite, arsenicum, arnica, Rescue remedy or Hyland's Calms Forté.

Listen to Inner Health Through Homeopathy Radio Show address the mysteries, answer the skeptics, and demonstrates how homeopathy works. Monthly at www.HomeopathyRadio.com.

Ideas for Change in America – Health Care Freedom

With the change in administration we will begin to see a reorganization of the medical care system and a trend toward more research. The voice of the people must be heard using internet technology as a vehicle to disseminate information, provide a forum for all points of view and new ideas, and to help connect like-minded individuals. Please participate in any way you can to promote preventative health care and complementary-alternative care opportunities initiated research and development.

First, we must applaud those who have been in the forefront of this work and have been doing studies in homeopathy. Second, we need more professionals to step up to the plate by proposing research topics and writing grants to receive funding.

  • We need to stress that, unlike traditional medicine, the homeopathic approach is unique to each individual and conventional double-blind studies will not show the efficacy of our energetic remedies, except in particular situations, such as epidemic disease when a few remedies usually cover the majority of symptoms.

Change is the word for this decade:

  • We must work to change the perception of homeopathy in the health care community at large and in the eyes of the general public.
  • We must counter those who tag homeopathy’s positive outcomes as due to the ‘placebo’ effect, instead of it’s just due – the homeopath’s ability to discern the matching pattern and resonate remedy to the individual’s disorder based upon fundamental homeopathic principles.

There are those in the health care and science community that set out to disprove the conclusions, methods and quality of surveys and studies that are done by qualified professional homeopaths.
[see: Commentary Exploring homeopathy by E. Ernst of Complementary Medicine, Peninsula Medical School, Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, 25 Victoria Park Road, Exeter EX2 4NT, UK printed in Preventative Medicine www.elsevier.com/locate/ypmed  available online 22 June 2007 Science Direct]

On that note, we applaud Norway's resident homeopath, A. Steinsbekk, who has published a number of papers in online health journals. The articles discuss the results of survey tabulations to dispel the notion that homeopathy simply is placebo medicine, and data analysis that shows what types of people visit a homeopath annually. The data suggests that those who regularly visit a homeopath feel that homeopathy has been beneficial to their well-being.

  • More specifically, Steinsbekk tabulated a health survey given to a cross section of adults in Central Norway [65,495 participants] in 1995-1997. Variables in the analysis were age, marital status, education, being a social welfare recipient, lifestyle (daily smoker), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-T), global health perception, self-reported health complaints and a variety of diseases.
  • To summarize Steinsbekk’s conclusion: Females who thought they had lower than average global health were most likely to visit a homeopath. Persons ages between 30-39 and those 60 and older, or on welfare had a small significance factor toward visiting a homeopath. If a person had Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale [HAD-S], hay fever, a recent health complaint or chronic disease they were rated on the scale to possibly visit a homeopath. If one was a daily smoker or widow(er) they were less likely to visit a homeopath.
  • Steinsbekk also recommends that more studies on visits to homeopaths from other populations (countries, children and adolescent) are needed.

Are there other data analysts who could tabulate trends in usage of homeopathic remedies and visitations in countries around the globe?

Steinbekks says,

USA: “There was a 500% increase in overall use of homeopathy
in USA from 0.7% of the population in 1990 to 3.4% in
1997. The proportion of the users of homeopathy who visited
a practitioner in USA was stable at about 20% from
1997 to 2002 although there was a reduction in the overall
use of homeopathy in the same period.

UK: There was an increase in the proportion who had consulted a homeopath from 1.2% in 1998 to 1.9% in 2001.

Norway: There was an increase, with 1.8% of the

Exploring Your Inner Self

Learning to Think Like a Homeopath Using a Journal Method

What is your total state? Get a pen and paper to get started with your journal.Write what comes to mind about a problem that is on your mind. Just write for 15 minutes straight. Whenever you pause, go back and review what you've already written. The ask yourself, “what do I mean by some of the words that seem important?” Then continue to write again, until each pause, when you go back and review, then choose what direction you go forward.

Connecting our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual selves.

  • When we have a problem with our health, how many “levels” of healing do we acknowledge?
  • Often, we're only aware of the pathology and the symptom: The migraine needs to be cured. The pain behind the right eye that feels like a hot iron poker needs to go away. But what about the associated emotion? We experience deep sadness when the migraine comes during our vacation.
  • How do we perceive our selves? We may feel unworthy of love or fun because everyone else must be taken care of first.
  • Can we identify and connect with our sensations? We feel vulnerable, shattered, fragmented, or not put together.
  • Once identified, it may be possible for the expressions to reveal the source of energy that influences us in all dimensions of our lives. Where does it begin, move and flow? Does it go into the ground and up into the sky like a tree?

All these “levels” are layers of human experience. While we often feel pain (and health) on the physical level, there are many, more subtle layers that ultimately define our health and wellness. These are:

  • Emotional feelings
  • Images: often seen when meditating, daydreaming or in dreams
  • Sensations: which are so much a part of us, we often can't identify them without significant probing from a homeopath and objective introspection.

Our sense of connection to the universe or direct energy can be enhanced with regular journal entries.

Think about it this way . .

  • When we turn attention inwards, we first become aware of our body and mind, and the sensations from various parts of the body, including our thoughts and emotions. Then we become aware of a deeper world of imagination. Then we get in touch with an overall experience of sensation, which is a general awareness in the whole being, body and mind.

The Art and Science of Homeopathy

  • When we have the opportunity to describe these many layered experiences to an objective observer, who knows how to select a medicine that works on an energetic level to address, reduce and often times clear our discomforts and symptoms we have experienced the true definition of homeopathy.
  • Whether we realize it or not, all these levels are part of us. We experience life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

What do we experience and how can it be interpreted?

  • For example, I may feel a burning pain in my right arm because I do too much with my right side, and I'm always doing my best to feel accepted in the world. Here is the point where the mind and body express the state that causes the physical problem.
  • With careful probing from a homeopath to help articulate the suffering in as much detail as possible, it is possible to discover even deeper layers and connections. For example, I might speak about a burning pain and my need to feel accepted in the world using words like resistance, force and weight. These terms express a deeper layer that might benefit from a homeopathic remedy. Through this realization, often we tap into a collective consciousness to identify the exact qualities of the substance we require at the moment.
  • Another person's life experience might be the description of a bird that attacks its prey and flies at jet-like speeds. This person might benefit greatly from the remedy made from eagle's blood, if all other general guiding symptoms match this remedy picture.

What have we learned so far?

  • That our language can help us connect emotion and physical ailments or discomfort through word association.
  • We can also identify significant issues and images through the journaling process.
  • Homeopathic remedies help to balance and remove the energetic imprint that is causing the suffering, in order to produce healing on all levels.

After going through the exercise you will learn how to analyze common themes.

Miasms as a coping method.

CASE STUDY EXAMPLE: HEALING A CRACKED LIFE FOR A 28 YEAR OLD WOMAN

This woman was asked about the reason for making an appointment with a homeopath. The 28 year old woman says that her sinus headaches are not improving. In fact, last night they were extremely horrible. She says, “It aches like anything. It came as a sudden constant pain on the left side and including the eye, like a plate. It was hurting here.” (She gestures a line through the top of her head.)

In this reply, the patient has given the pathology (sinus headaches), an emotion (horrible), and a local sensation (achy pain, sudden, constant, on left side through her eye). She also has given a visual image that it is like a plate. This image is a direct expression from her chief complaint. The homeopath will explore this idea to see if it expresses a mind/body connection and a deeper sensation.

Finding out why these headaches are such a challenge to her life . . .

The patient says she can't speak or do anything when she has these headaches. “It would be less painful to die. It feels like it could burst my head. It feels like so much pressure, like an earthquake, like a cracking in a line.”

How the homeopath understands the patient’s level of experience.

  • At this point, the patient has reached a level of consciousness that is beyond the headache. The sensation of a sinus headache feeling like a cracking line is totally unique to this patient. How does this earthquake image make any sense? This image is what resonates to the natural world and is the clue to the remedy that will cure her sinus headaches and restore harmony.

The woman further describes the sensation as a kind of lava; it is soft, not solid, like jelly. It is like rubber, more transparent, yellowish. It is coming out of the crack but is not coming out like water. It is not cold or hot. It is room temperature. It is sticky.

She continues, “This crack is like the crack in my relationship.”

  • The patient now has made the connection that the crack is an image she experiences physically as well as emotionally (a mind/body symptom). It is at this point in the interview that she begins to cry. This understanding of the crack relates to her marriage, which also feels like a crack. This is a confirmation to the homeopath that the road taken from the chief complaint is reaching a deep core level with the patient.

Further detail when going deeper into the source description.

  • The patient describes images of lava that do not have the quality of lava, but more like the substance of sap from a tree. The remedy Terebinthinum is made from the sap of trees and proved to be curative for this patient. Her sinus headaches went away and she found a way to resolve her issues with her husband.

Results after taking the energetic homeopathic remedy.

She said, “I am going with everything, even the crack, I try to grow with it. I have faith that the future will be better, and faith in my relationship now.”

  • The level the patient reached through the homeopathic consultation was at the Level of Energy, which is to name the qualities of the substance that will heal her. The patient tapped into a collective consciousness that helped her describe the remedy that she needs. She has traveled from the physical realm (all consuming with the pain of the headache), to connecting to her emotional life through the image of the crack as the pain in her head and the pain in her relationship. This awareness is the process of healing and finding harmony through homeopathic consultation and treatment.

What happens when we address these deeper layers?

  • Often, it's much more than relief from our original complaint. Because we've benefited from holistic medicine working at the energy level, we also experience a deep and profound shift in consciousness. We create many more choices for looking at ourselves and the world around us.
