Obama wants to put a cap on the price big pharma can charge for new, advanced drugs meant for treating disease. How about homeopathy? It is inexpensive, safe and easy to use for many diseases that are very costly to Medicare, insurance companies and patients.
This is the time for homeopaths to get involved and tell the new government how important it is to consider homeopathy in the new health care plan. Simple studies could be set up where parents can elect to choose homeopathy for ADD, Autism, ADHD in towns where the cost of taking care of children with these disabilities is seriously reducing the other services the town can provide.
It would cost so little to implement homeopathic clinics to take care of some of these epidemics that are poorly treated by conventional medicine. Make your voice count write comments, suggestions and start to make homeopathy a household word!

Thank you for getting this started! What do we do next?

I have been writing comments on the potential health care program for some time now. My position is that I don’t support any health care plan that does not include all holistic protocols and allow people to chose their practitioners individually; ie, no enforced hmo membership.
This position needs to be stated clearly with a groundswell of support garnered for such a position.
Homeopaths need to become more proactive as organizers. They need to have literature and petitions in their offices.
Any time a homeopath does a workshop they need to carry literature on our position with them.
They need to encourage people to sign petitions and contact their legislators. The internet worked wonders in this election. We should be using it to our advantage, too.
We should create a petition for health food stores.
We should consider a petition that is more inclusive of other holistic practices and ask that those practitioners promote it in their offices.
This can be tricky, as the NY experience has shown us.
Letters to the editor can be powerful.
Getting a column in local papers is great, or getting interviewed.
Business networking such as with a chamber of commerce can be a good way to get out our information.
Lobbying by groups of people with legislators is a great thing to do.
Holding community events to discuss this issue. Maybe showing a film such as one of the full length documentaries on the Codex with talk about the insidious changes in the law to errode the DSHEA regs which protect our health freedom choices might be a good venue. This can be tied in with the erosion of our civil rights and liberties.
Just some thoughts of things that I have done to get the word out.

I concur that homeopathy, and integrative CAM in general, must be included in President Obama’s new health care plan.
I intend to submit a petition with the signatures of homeopathic physicians nationwide to request that a special CAM advisory group be established to help with the incorporation of CAM into the new health plan.
I’m praying that his mind is open to this.

Thank you for this outlet for information.
Now is the time to get Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Herbs and ND = natural health into Obama’s health care plan. Lets unite and come up with ideas to get this done. The country is ready for a change.
We can write letters to our legislators and get others to do the same thing. We can also call them and send letters to the White House.
On the local level in Florida we have been lobbying the legislators and having appreciation days where we give demonstrations and sometimes free anti-stress calming treatments to show the efficacy of our modalities. This was used primarily with acupuncture, Bach flowers and some homeopathy.
I stay in touch with my Congresman and epresentative to see if there is any legislation coming up and my views. In fact they are in my speed dial. Every time I have a patients say we should be included in medicare/medicaid and insurance I give them their numbers and a sample letter to send them after adding the patients personal comments to it first.
A big blow to CAM just occurred in California as they took acupuncture and possibly chiropractic out of their medicare/medicaid program. Now is the time to show we are more cost effective than the current system.
We could get people to celebrate a national homeopathy week established like the Oriental Medical profession has. Physicians and lay people could participate in the natural health fairs, green fairs and other community events with educational booths.
We need to organize and go as a massive front.
We desire to show economic efficiency.
We desire to show efficacy.
Now is the time to bring out the studies and qualifications of our medicine that show a positive light. much is being done to show the flaws of uncomplimentary studies against us as well as the big pharma people who did or reported the findings of the studies.
Please share ideas of how we can accomplish this on the grass roots level.
Those writing petitions could share them on this site so we can download them for others to circulate.
Email petitions are not looked at generally as viable unless it is individually directed to your legislator. Since the election I don’t have an updated list bit I am forwarding the old one to Melissa.
If you know any good journalists who could get this in the media - the effectiveness of homeopathy with positive stories now is the time to get them in.
Might be time to contact anyone with money and influence who could speak for us as well.
You can count the National Board of Homeopathic Examiners and the Florida Homeopathic Medical Society in.
Lets get as many natural health organizations as we can to commit as well. Think outside of just homeopathy but all natural health fields for the best bill possible. Professions like chiropractic, massage and acupuncture have already made some inroads. Lets bank on that and get homeopathy, herbs, ND’s and integrative medical schools and institutions involved as well.
Now is the time to unite complementary and integrative practices for the well being of our country.
Long Live Homeopathy,

If You are a voter in the legislator’s district - Here Is What You Can Do
Ask the legislator to write legislation to include CAM in the new health care program. Ask them to support any good bill that would have fair pay and benefits for providers of CAM services. Many insurance companies are contacting us and offering to pay acupuncturists $12 for the first consultation and they paid Chiropractors $36 and $4 for the adjustment. Not fair we are not looking for this type of deal when we do become authorized providers in the Obama health care plan.
Faxes and written letters are most effective and certainly an e-mail version is fine. Keep your letter simple, and to the point. If you have a relationship with your legislator you may also want to speak with her/him personally. However, a written request is important.
How to make contact with your Senator or Representative
We are providing you with a link to the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate.
Click on one of the links below and you will be directed to the main web site of either the Senate of House of Representatives.
From the new web site, you will be able to select your state from the drop down list.
* Senate http://www.senate.gov/
* House of Representatives http://www.house.gov/
Very Important
We also need to Send, email or fax a copy letter or e-mail to a central place. This way we can compile a file of hundreds of letters that will give us more leverage with the Government should we be asked to go to Washington to plead our case.
Anyone willing to be in charge of that?
By January I could offer that service but until then someone else might step up for the position.
